Count the boards
Planning ranges come from commonly published reclaimed wood prices for the boards or stock only, adjusted for the project, grade and thickness. Installation, finish and delivery are extra, and your real price depends on the wood in stock.

Commonly published planning ranges for typical reclaimed wood, boards or finished pieces only. Real prices depend on the species and grade in stock, size, thickness, milling, finish, delivery and installation. Each group of bars has its own scale.
Seven things that change the number.
Species and age
Heart pine, chestnut and old-growth oak cost more than mixed barn pine.
Grade
Clean, consistent boards cost more than character-heavy ones.
Thickness and width
Thicker and wider stock needs more wood and more milling.
Milling
Planing, tongue-and-groove and trim profiles add labor.
Waste
Random widths and diagonal layouts need more extra boards.
Finish
Sealers and hard finishes add material and time.
Delivery and install
Distance, access and installation are priced separately.

Cost and quantity questions
How much does reclaimed wood cost?
Commonly published prices run roughly $5 to $15 per square foot for barn wood wall boards and about $8 to $20 per square foot for reclaimed flooring material, with beams, mantels and tables priced by size and species. Our Board Footage Calculator gives a first planning range, and a photo or a sample visit gets you a written quote.
How do I know how much wood to order?
Measure the width and height of each surface, multiply for square feet, subtract large openings and add waste: about 10 percent for straight runs and 15 to 20 percent for random widths, character grade or diagonal layouts. The calculator does the math and shows boards, bundles and board feet.
Can you cut boards to size or mill custom profiles?
Yes. We cut to width and length, plane or skip-plane, tongue-and-groove and mill trim, shiplap, treads and flooring, so boards arrive ready to install.
