From barn to home.
Reclaimed wood goes from a weathered barn to your wall in six steps. Here is exactly what happens, in order, and what you need to do before and after.

Follow the wood.
Step 1 of 6
- 01
Tell us the project
Share photos, measurements and the look you want. Try the Board Footage Calculator and the Wood Matcher first if you like, then ask for samples.

Samples in your hands - 02
Find and salvage
Wood comes from barns, mills and old buildings that are taken apart by hand so the boards survive in one piece.

Taken apart by hand - 03
De-nail, scan and dry
Every nail is pulled and the wood is metal-scanned, then dried and sorted by species, color, width and grade.

Metal-scanned and sorted - 04
Mill and finish
Boards are left rough, brushed or planed, cut to width, tongue-and-grooved or turned into trim, then sealed the way you choose.

Milled to your spec - 05
Load and deliver
Bundles are loaded, strapped and delivered across Middle Tennessee, with a few days to acclimate in the room before they go up.

Delivered to your door - 06
Build and enjoy
Install it yourself, with your builder or ask us about professional installation, and watch a hundred years of weather become the best wall in the house.

Process questions
Where does the wood come from?
Old barns, tobacco sheds, mills and other buildings, mostly in Tennessee and the surrounding states, taken apart by hand so the boards survive. Each lot looks different, which is why we send full-size samples before you buy.
Is reclaimed wood safe to cut and install?
Boards are de-nailed, metal-scanned and dried before they are sold, which makes them much safer to cut and stable indoors. Old paint can contain lead in buildings from before 1978, so ask us about any painted board and never dry sand it.
Can you cut boards to size or mill custom profiles?
Yes. We cut to width and length, plane or skip-plane, tongue-and-groove and mill trim, shiplap, treads and flooring, so boards arrive ready to install.
Start with the easy part.
Send photos or ask for samples. We look, plan and price before a single board is cut.
